The best time to go to Cape Verde (Cabo Verde) is between October and June, when there are high temperatures of 75-85 F/24-29 C and lows of 68-76 F/20-24 C. The hot and rainy season, which isn't very rainy, is July-September. During December and March, the harmattan winds blow in from the Sahara, forming a dust cloud that can obscure the sun.

The rest of the year, a prevailing northeasterly breeze helps keep the temperature moderate and humidity low. It's a good idea to take a sweater year-round for evenings and forays to higher altitudes.
